The “Toque Seniors” highlights the culinary talents of the various neighborhoods of Nice and brings them together for a festive and gourmet event.
The City of Nice is calling on all chefs over the age of 55, inviting them to register for the first edition of the “Toque Senior” competition.
Call for applications until Wednesday, June 5
Participants from the nine districts of the municipality will need to go all out and concoct recipes close to their hearts to impress the taste buds of the jury members.
This competition will allow the discovery of traditional dishes from world cuisines and share a delightful moment. Candidates will be shortlisted through different selection phases:
By submitting an application to the Maison des Seniors of the district for which the candidate is competing. The participant will briefly introduce themselves, explain the origin and history of their recipe (sweet or savory), detail the ingredients used, and send two photos of their cooked dish. 15 candidates will be selected per district;
By tasting the dish by the jury. These selections will be organized in each Maison des Seniors of the nine districts with the participation of the Atelier de la Cuisine Niçoise. One candidate per district will participate in the grand finale of the competition;
The nine candidates will present their recipe during the grand finale of the “Toque Seniors” on Saturday, September 14, as part of “Nice fête sa rentrée”.
