On Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 8:45 AM, Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, Denis Taccini, Director of the Alpes-Maritimes delegation of the French Association of Paralyzed Persons (APF), and Dominique Trigon, President of the Mutualitรฉ Franรงaise PACA SSAM, will proceed with the signing of agreements to facilitate access to housing for people with disabilities.

Two agreements to promote access to housing for people with disabilities

The agreement with the APF aims, on one hand, to find concrete solutions for disabled people identified by the Departmental House for Disabled Persons (MDPH) and, on the other hand, to contribute to implementing a coordinated housing action plan in the department, particularly with social landlords and local authorities.

As for the Mutualitรฉ Franรงaise, it provides support as a housing referent within the MDPH, to identify and evaluate the situations of disabled people who have expressed difficulties related to housing and report them to the APF. Within the MDPH, the Mutualitรฉ offers personalized support and follow-up of requests and decisions regarding disability compensation benefits, especially relating to housing adaptation work.

Financed 50% by the General Council, the MDPH carries out tasks of welcoming and informing, recognizing disabilities, and granting rights related to disability, including the disability compensation benefit. It also manages the operation of a coordination platform for technical aids and the secretariat of the departmental disability compensation fund, for which the Mutualitรฉ Franรงaise also provides its support.
