The Insee forecasts an acceleration of inflation at least during the first half of 2022, amid high energy prices and widespread shortages. Not to mention other increases, such as in food.
While it reached a high level in January 2022, when it was, according to Insee, 2.9% year-on-year, inflation in France is expected to accelerate in the coming months. In its economic update on February 8, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies forecasts inflation higher than 3% in February 2022 (precisely 3.3%)… and this is only the beginning.
Price increases could ultimately exceed the forecast of the Bank of France, which is based on an annual inflation of 2.5% in 2022. Is France heading towards a year with 3% inflation, nearly double compared to 2021 (1.6% year-on-year)?
