Action for the Nice Ciné-Café!

Latest News

Hosted by Daniel Fimbel, the Ciné-Café will bring together enthusiasts of the 7th Art tonight at Brasserie Félix Faure at 7:30 PM to discuss the films currently showing in Nice theaters. To begin, there will be an “unraveling in images” of the aesthetics of the two 2014 films dedicated to Yves Saint-Laurent.

For the record: 87 participants attended last Monday’s screening-debate at the Cinema Mercury (Laura Bispuri’s Sworn Virgin, presented in partnership with Family Planning 06).

A week earlier, Pascal Couret gathered around forty spectators for Zeresenay Berhane Mehari’s film Difret during an evening co-hosted with Amnesty International.

“We say to the concerned associations: see you soon, if you wish!” expressed Daniel Fimbel, announcing the program for the coming weeks.

A new start, in two phases, of the Documents-Earth cycle, still at Mercury:

on Monday, November 30 (inauguration at Le Bourget of the COP21 dedicated to climate) with the presentation, on the same day, of Luc Jacquet’s Ice and the Sky.

in December, presentation of the documentary “Allende, mi abuelo” directed by the granddaughter of the former Chilean president (a film awarded at Cannes).

But that’s not all…

“Before that, from November 13 to 22, 2015, we will participate, for about ten performances, alongside historians and key witnesses hosted by the 18th International Film Festival on Resistance. We will provide, as usual, the film analysis aspect of this important civic and cultural event” – concluded Daniel Fimbel.
