Ski trips in our well-snowed azure mountains and carnival activities are on the program in the leisure centers of the city of Nice during the February 2011 holidays (from February 19 to March 6)!
Mountain activities to discover snow and winter sports.
The big novelty of this winter 2011 is, for the first time, the ski trips offered to young people. Thanks to a partnership with the Alpes-Maritimes General Council, 90 young people from 6 to 12 years old will spend 7 days in the snow schools of La Colmiane, Valberg, and Auron, discovering the joys of skiing.
In addition, the holiday camp in the snow-covered village of Beuil will host 108 young people.
For teenagers aged 13 to 17, a “whole snow” camp is organized in the heart of the Mercantour Park: discovery of the mountain environment, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, ice climbing (note: 2-star level required for these outings).
The younger ones can also participate during the snow outings of the leisure centers in a snow rally with sled relays, snowball fights, igloo building…
Viva Carnaval!
This year, 250 young people from Nice will once again have the immense pleasure of parading during the Nice corsis of the Saint-Augustin and Nice Nord carnivals on March 3 and 9. Some will also have the pride of being able to carry the big heads made according to traditions by the children of the leisure centers under the expert advice of carnival organizers.
Still in the spirit of Carnaval, with smiles on their faces and sparkling eyes, the children will be able to discover the Biovès gardens of Menton dressed for the occasion in the colors of the sun.
Flash Mob
The holidays will end with a big “flash mob” organized in the city center.
