This Wednesday morning, the city of Nice and the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP) signed an agreement aimed at eliminating printed editions of accounting documents. This agreement also includes the Metropolis and the Local Social Action Center (CCAS).

The agreement signed this morning between Philippe Pradel, deputy mayor, and Christian Guicheteau, departmental director of Public Finances, is the first step towards digitization.

The goal is to replace the current transmission of paper documents with digital methods. “This is the second step as pay slips are already in digital format. We are saving nearly 24,000 sheets per month thanks to this,” rejoices Philippe Pradal.

The costs of transportation, printing, storage, and handling have thus been outweighed by the thousands of documents exchanged between the city of Nice, the Metropolis Nice Cรดte d’Azur, and the CCAS. “This agreement will allow many agents to be redeployed to new tasks to improve the quality and productivity of our services,” highlights the departmental director of Public Finances.

The ultimate step will be total digitalization, meaning no printed documents, whereas currently more than 200,000 pages are exchanged between the different services. The city of Nice and the DGFiP hope to reduce these costs (paper, toner, transport) by 5% to 10% as early as next year.
