The statement by Christian Estrosi declaring Prefect Colrat “persona non grata” had the impact of a bomb both in form and substance. It could not remain unanswered by the socialist opposition, and Patrick Allemand’s statement, after the weekend, has just filled this silence.
Upon his return from New York, the Mayor of Nice stated that if it were like New York, the Mayor would also be Prefect and Prosecutor of the Republic, and everything would be resolved.
However, here we are in France, and the Prefect is the representative of the State who ensures the implementation of government policy across the entire national territory.
This is the very principle of public service. That Christian ESTROSI attacks this very principle is unacceptable and inadmissible.
It is the Mayor of Nice who, in this instance, is displaying anti-republican behavior. I urge him to reconsider his stance.
