The young swimmer from Antibes, triple champion of France, Agathe Pauli, managed to rank among the best in her first participation in the Paralympic Games. Determined and talented, she almost clinched a medal.
Agathe Pauli, a swimmer from the Antibes para swimming club, has already made a strong impression in her first participation in the Paralympic Games. Already a triple champion of France in 2022, she distinguished herself by reaching the final of the 400-meter freestyle at the World Championships in Madeira that same year.
Today, she has confirmed her potential. In the heats of the 400-meter freestyle S9, Agathe Pauli was solid, registering the third-best time of her race and finishing seventh overall. This performance positioned her as an outsider to watch closely for the final.
The final lived up to all its promises. Starting strong, the Antibes swimmer was second after 100 meters, then third at 300 meters, raising the possibility of a medal. She ultimately finished sixth, but with a new personal record. The Hungarian Zsofia Konkoly won gold, ahead of the reigning Olympic champion, the Australian Lakeisha Patterson.
Agathe Pauli has no regrets. This determined young swimmer is asserting herself as an up-and-coming figure in French swimming. She will return later in the Games with the 2 mixed relays.
