Two men, two names, one pact, the WorldRiderZ association of Stรฉphane Etienne and Eric Favre, a sport launched into an adventure, a battle, and above all, a message: To prevent the causes of chronic kidney disease through various sports events themed around health.
The aim is to better understand the disease and try to find solutions, because this disease, which might not be well known to everyone, is extremely prevalent worldwide. If you don’t know someone who has it, chances are you know someone who knows someone who does.
“Kidney disease (or nephropathy) is generally irreversible, with no possibility of cure. Its natural progression is more or less slow, potentially leading to complete loss of kidney function. This is known as end-stage renal disease, requiring replacement therapy through dialysis and/or kidney transplantation.”
Stรฉphane Etienne is the originator of it all, this 38-year-old father left his entrepreneurial life in Australia behind after the birth of his son, who was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. For his son and all the other people suffering from the disease, he decided to create the WorldRiderZ association in 2009, to which he dedicates himself entirely by undertaking sports challenges worldwide, having already traveled extensively.
Along the way, he has become known and even admired, which has brought him allies all over the world and many associations. With them, they hope to raise awareness among as many people as possible and encourage people to engage in sports and eat healthily.
They also want to voice their frustration with the global medical community, which often, due to concern for agreement or competition, does not share research and developments.
