Latest News

The President of the Republic will speak this Tuesday at the 16th edition of the main gathering of French maritime sector stakeholders, which takes place on September 14th and 15th at the Acropolis. This 16th edition brings together economic stakeholders from the maritime sector, from both the public and private sectors.

It will be an opportunity for the President of the Republic “to discuss key themes” such as sovereignty, research, maritime transport, and new maritime enterprises.

Emmanuel Macron also aims to “take stock of the progress made by the government.”

The President will also revisit the “Exemplary Mediterranean Sea by 2030” plan, launched in January 2021 during the One Planet Summit. The Mediterranean Sea is notably one of the most polluted seas in the world. According to the Ministry of Ecological Transition, approximately 600,000 tons of waste are dumped into its waters each year.
