Amnesty International Film Festival: The 7th Art Mobilizes for Justice and Dignity

Latest News

From March 1st to 31st, Amnesty International France is organizing the seventh edition of the “In the Cinema for Human Rights” Festival, in more than 30 cities across the Provence Alpes Cรดte d’Azur, Corsica, and Languedoc regions.

The feeling of the retreat of human rights, sometimes even in democracies, could make us forget that everywhere, the rights we have gained are the result of the mobilization of women and men who have acted and continue to act in their countries against the impunity of those who violate them, for equality among people, for justice, and for solidarity among humans. Cinema is a powerful whistleblower and witness in the fight to defend human rights!

150 screening-debates will be organized in more than 50 different locations (cinemas, universities, colleges, high schools, schools, community centers…) with many guests in attendance (filmmakers, actors, experts, and activists).

THE FESTIVAL

Created by Amnesty International in the PACA region 7 years ago, the Festival has gradually extended to the Mediterranean region. Amnesty aims to raise awareness among a broad audience about human rights, especially women’s rights, migrant rights, refugee rights, and discrimination.
Giving voice to those who are not heard is the cornerstone of this initiative, by highlighting filmmakers from around the world and organizing debates after each screening.
