The 50th anniversary of Amnesty International was celebrated in the Alpes-Maritimes with numerous events: dignity exhibitions and gatherings in several cities, the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in Nice, concerts, debates, conferences, etc. We continue to celebrate 50 years of militant struggle for the defense and promotion of human rights worldwide.
In Nice, the Amnesty International house (on Gioffredo Street) has been in existence for 10 years. On this occasion, it will open its doors to the general public on October 21 and 22, 2011, with visits from middle and high schools planned.
It will welcome Stéphane Oberreit, the general director of the French section, throughout the day on Saturday, October 22, 2011.
This will be an opportunity to review Amnesty International’s progress, its transformation over 50 years, its development priorities, its campaigns, and to ask Stéphane about your concerns.
