For an Agri-cultural Associative Café in Nice
It is on Rue Bonaparte in the historical, popular, and lively district of the Port of Nice, in the center of the future pedestrian area, two minutes from Old Nice, that the choice has been made to very soon create the agri-cultural café “Le Court-Circuit.”
A place of “consum’action” because everything offered there will be made according to ethical and socially correct principles (artisanal drinks, fair trade and local supply chain organic groceries, ecological household products, etc.) thus meeting real needs and improving our quality of life. A true showcase of local, ecological, and solidarity initiatives.
This associative café aims to promote encounters and social links by offering a friendly and welcoming space where people from all walks of life (local residents, passing visitors, association activists, and tourists) can meet to share and exchange.
Opening in Spring 2011, if all goes well!
Why call it the Court-Circuit?
Short circuits embody a new societal project that challenges the model of large-scale distribution and the entire current global food chain, redirecting production, distribution, and consumption modes towards new practices that are fairer, both in environmental terms (biodiversity preservation, climate change mitigation, reduction of oil consumption related to transportation, pesticides, and excessive agricultural mechanization) and in social (health, solidarity mechanisms, connections) and economic terms (fair “just price” for all parties). Our goal is to develop our already existing partnerships: Jardins de Cocagne, AMAPs, Agribio, etc.
