An Azurean socialist party backing its first federal secretary

Things were looking quite good for Marc DAUNIS.

At least, that’s what the socialists thought before the Communist Party unexpectedly decided to present its own list.

“It’s a heavy blow for the progressive forces in the department,” notes Patrick Allemand, who calls for the Communists to rally. While Marc Daunis will remain the top candidate, negotiations are open to complete the list, and the second spot will be offered to them without discussion.

The leadership of the azuréen Socialist Party is opening its list to all left-wing parties. The coalition must be as broad as possible.
Patrick Allemand reminds us that the discussions are, of course, not closed. Beyond the “normal differences between left-wing parties,” as Yann Librati points out, “it is indeed the need to fight against Christian Estrosi and the system he has put in place that is at stake.” This awareness is crucial.

The goal of the azuréen Left is to prevent a grand slam for the UMP azuréen leader. This UMP holds nearly all powers in this department. It is time, the azuréen PS leadership reminds, to break this hegemony and bring some democracy.

Just as Marc Concas slowed the momentum of the UMP machine during the canton elections, Marc Daunis could, according to Patrick Allemand, become “the pebble in the shoe” of the all-present Christian Estrosi and the UMP.

Patrick Allemand also calls upon the mayors and grand electors of the middle and high country, who are currently neglected by a mayor of Nice and President of the General Council, in search of funds for his grandiose Nice projects. “The financial cavalry” denounced by Christine Dorejo is underway.

Patrick Allemand stresses that democracy and budget control require diverse political representation. This diversity doesn’t exist in this department. The senatorial election in September could be an opportunity to elect at least one “different” senator.

The First Secretary of the azuréen PS thus calls for a “democratic resurgence” and a “peaceful insurrection in the secrecy of the voting booth.”
