During the regional election campaign in June 2021, Renaud Muselier, then a candidate for the presidency, committed to adopting 7 proposals from the ecological-centrist Jean-Marc Governatori, who had supported him between the two rounds.
In order to fulfill this commitment and to concretely implement these measures, the Region will create a Regional Environmental Office for Proposals and Action, which will be chaired entirely on a voluntary basis by Jean-Marc Governatori.
This Office will be officially presented during the Plenary Assembly of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region on Friday, October 29th.
These commitments concern the following topics:
• An annual and independent assessment of the region’s ecological footprint,
• A joint fund with municipalities and metropolises to develop community gardens throughout the territory,
• The generalization of organic vegetarian options in high schools,
• Increased support for animal shelters and associations,
• Accelerating the energy renovation of buildings,
• The annual increase in the share of renewable energy in our region,
• And the development of carpooling in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.
