Combining three of the five senses, taste, sight, and hearing, in one evening was the goal of the Nice Com’Talents association for the event “Nice of Yesterday and Today” at the Le Ligure restaurant.

Whether they are students in hospitality, professionals, or simply amateurs, the three contestants of the cooking contest start working with impressive speed and dexterity right at the start signal. The challenge consists, in an hour and a half, of revisiting a traditional Niçoise dish in front of the admiring eyes of the guests. Boldness in the composition of the dish, originality in the recipe, all criteria valued by big names in cuisine such as Joël Garault, chef at Le Vistamar restaurant, Jacques Chibois, starred chef at La Bastide Saint Antoine, and Nathalie Bouchet, member of the French Culinary Academy.
For those whose hunger was stirred by this demonstration, a cocktail dinner, prepared by the chefs of Le Ligure, offered various Niçoise specialties, accompanied by fine wines provided by E-Dis and artisan ice creams from Les Glaces de la Côte. It was also an opportunity to explore the photography exhibition, the other main theme of the evening. Archival photos, provided by Gilleta editions, showcased the evolution of the azure capital from its annexation to France in 1860 to today. This retrospective was complemented by recent shots from Rémi Garcia and Elise Castille.
This friendly evening of encounters between cooking and photography enthusiasts was the idea of four students pursuing a Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Event Communication at the Nice Côte d’Azur University Institute of Technology: Sandy Gérard, Coralie Borloz, Raphael Bonnaud, and Guillaume Gosa.
