As part of the commemorations of the Centenary of the First World War, the Raoul Mille Library is hosting an exhibition titled “General Mobilization!” from September 13 to October 11, 2014.
This exhibition, on loan from the National Mountain Troops Museum in Grenoble, offers testimonies that immerse the visitor in the atmosphere prevailing in the Alps on the eve and the aftermath of the proclamation of the general mobilization, a prelude to four years of war.
The testimonies presented place the conflict in the daily life of the Alpine people and help explain how the population could accept and endure so many sacrifices during this period.
This exhibition has been awarded the label of the National First World War Centenary Mission.
