Last week, two sexual assaults took place in Nice near the Trotabas campus and the Crous Les Collinettes residence. An investigation is ongoing.
A female student was reportedly first sexually assaulted while she was near the Alphonse Daudet school. She stated that the man willingly touched her chest. A complaint has since been filed.
A few days later, another female student was attacked near the Crous Les Collinettes residence. A man was attempting to steal her phone.
In total, six assaults, including sexual ones, and one rape have reportedly been recorded since the beginning of the year near the law faculty campus.
The national police have been engaged, and an investigation is underway to determine the context and exact number of assaults. Upon hearing of these events, the dean of the faculty took measures, specifically requesting the police to conduct patrols in the area.
On Thursday, January 27, an awareness meeting will take place with the students, a retired member of the Raid, and a police officer.
The Côte d’Azur University has moreover activated the Cellule Violences Sexistes et Sexuelles (Sexist and Sexual Violence Unit) to support the students, accessible via this email address: cvss@universite-cotedazur.fr
