Spotlight on contemporary Italian painting at an exceptional exhibition that will bring together about fifteen painters, photographers, sculptors, and writers at the Museaav. Antonella Avataneo, Laura Bagnoli, Fabrizio Breschi, Assunta Canciellieri, Giovanni Cappiello, Concetta De Pasquale, Galliano Gallo, Ida Monopoli, Rodolfo Parisotto, Renata Pfeiffer, Salvatore Procida, Pascal Pugliese, Michel Sapone, Elisabetta Sega, Gian Franco Sega, Serenella Sossi, Lia Ambrosini, Massimo Pesucci, Claudia Allievi.
The Piedmontese culture first and then the Italian culture, integrated into the artistic, cultural, and sociological heritage of our region, justify the interest that Museaav has in our transalpine neighbors.
The exhibition will take place from May 29 to June 15, 2013, and will be punctuated with cultural events: conferences, debates, and film screenings. The opening will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 6:30 PM.
On Thursday, June 6, at 7 PM, Chiara Samugheo will unveil the highlights of her artistic and personal life. This evening, entitled “A Particular Life” in reference to Ettore Scola’s film, will feature a video projection of photos commented on by the artist.
From the 1950s to the 1980s, she tirelessly photographed locations around the world, creating a body of work as prolific as it was passionate. She was the creator of documentary reportages documenting their time and initiated portraits of stars on glossy magazine paper.
Her sharp blue eye captured the splendor of these “people” (directors, actors, actresses, models) while also capturing a bit of their hidden intimacy. So many accumulated images have created a unique and precious collection that the artist invites you to (re)discover.
“I was fortunate to accompany the rise and fall of a generation of stars whose only fault was being beautiful, and the only possibility of redemption was having talent. My photos have been published in magazines worldwide. Today, I would like to share with you the moments of pleasure these photos brought me.” Moments of emotion and shared encounters.
