Nice Premium: Angelique, is the Top 50 returning to Cours Saleya tomorrow?
Angelique Alasta: Yes, indeed!! In a way!! In any case, Marc Toesca will be with us live on SENSATIONS LIVE to talk, among other things, about the events organized for the 25th anniversary of this more-than-cult show, such as the release of Arnold Turboust’s brand-new album, on Marc’s label Monte Carlo Records. And it will be an opportunity to reminisce about the good memories from the 80s, which truly marked an entire generation.
NP: Can you tell us a bit about the concept of your Friday night shows in Nice?
AA: Yes, with great pleasure! SENSATIONS LIVE is a show I created a little over four years ago, and it has obviously developed and grown a lot since then, both in terms of content, with new segments for example, and in terms of musical programming, as well as having more contributors, since I share the mic with my on-air partner, Marc, and many others who want to share good times with the listeners.
The principle of the show is simple: it’s about having fun while highlighting what’s happening in the city and the region where we are located, primarily Nice and the Côte d’Azur since that’s where most of the shows are produced. These shows are always live and with an audience, the listeners don’t come to the radio, the radio comes to them, and that’s new! On this note, I want to give a shout-out to the management and the entire team at Ma Nolan’s in Nice, who have kindly hosted us on their terrace every Friday night for more than a year now, with a special thanks to Christophe.
During these shows, we give a voice to those creating events in the city, musicians, artists, creators, etc., who want to express themselves. We open our airwaves to them, and I must confess that it’s a constant source of joy.
The listeners don’t miss out either. They seek pleasure, good humor, originality in tone, and musical programming, all concentrated into a show that speaks to them and with which they feel connected. SENSATIONS LIVE meets their expectations and more, which is why the show quickly became the must-attend event at the end of the week, the start of the weekend—in short, a synonym for good times and exchange.
NP: Sensations is on the web in Nice, when can we expect an FM frequency?
AA: Yes, in Nice and even beyond its broadcasting areas in the Paris region and Normandy, you can find SENSATIONS on the internet of course, simply on the station’s website (currently being modified) by typing www.trianglefm.fr to listen to us everywhere!
Regarding a potential frequency in Nice, many listeners from the region are asking for it more and more impatiently!! Let me tell you that the project is under review by the radio’s management, so don’t hesitate to send messages in that sense so you can find your favorite show in your car radio or Hi-Fi system (angelique[at]radiosensations.fr)!!
NP: What are the fond memories from your recent shows?
AA: Besides my meeting with BONO you mean?? (laughs)!! There are so many! SENSATIONS LIVE is based on encounters, which is why we chose to broadcast the show live and with an audience. All these encounters largely contribute to the show’s richness.
For example, a few weeks ago, Charlie Winston passed by us at Ma Nolan’s during a show. We went to talk to him, and he agreed to share the air with us for a good while, telling us he found the idea of doing radio this way truly original. A real great moment of shared emotions for us and the listeners.
Old Nice is teeming with talents of all kinds, especially musicians, and it’s not rare for some to come to us, guitar in hand, and sing us a song just like that, in a totally improvised acoustic version. Even we don’t know how the show will unfold, as anything can happen during 4 hours of live broadcast, it’s the surprise!!
NP: Any projects for new shows or new concepts?
AA: Absolutely, there’s no shortage of projects, the ideas are there. I am fortunate to work in an innovative media setting that values the creativity of its collaborators, allowing us to constantly develop new things around themes like tonight’s for instance, where we’ll meet Marc Toesca and his legendary good humor live, but also local artist Nicolas Ghetti, a rising star in music, a true “Serial Singer” with his brand-new album “J’veux du beau” releasing on September 24th, who will present it exclusively with us tonight.
We’ll also have young artists from the French Riviera, SHANE, who have accepted our invitation and will talk about their productions. No doubt you’ll love them!! Guaranteed SENSATIONS LIVE from 8 pm to 11 pm live, and if you join us, you could leave with a photo of you with the artists you love, and autographed if you please! (laughs)
