The “popular tide” that protested in several cities in France—including Nice—in the “anti-Macron” movement did not achieve the success hoped for by Jean-Luc Mélenchon and the numerous opposition parties and associations.
The “Popular Front” mentioned in the wishes of the leader of the Insoumis is not yet ready to lay “siege” to the Macronist citadel of power, and it is destined, at least in the medium term, to the mere staging of the South American para-revolutionary tactic of “foco”—igniting centers of protest here and there.
In fact, its inability to rally the masses against the power further radicalizes it, both in rhetoric and actions, a sign of its weakness as shown by the relative failure of the strike at SNCF, Air France, against the public service reform, and the blocking of universities, despite the infiltration of ideologized groups.
