To celebrate the arrival of spring, the awakening of nature, and the return of sunny days, Antibes Juan-les-Pins is organizing “Les Floralies, Antibes Juan-les-Pins en fleurs,” a new event entirely dedicated to flowers and gardens, until May 21.

The event, “Les Floralies,” will highlight the rich green and floral heritage in various emblematic places of the city.

Yesterday, the newest addition from the renowned Antibes rose grower, “Mademoiselle Meilland,” was christened in the heart of the Villa Eilenroc’s setting.

This Saturday, May 14, Villa Eilenroc invites you to “Senteurs au jardin” (Scents in the Garden). Itโ€™s an opportunity for a poetic stroll through the famous rose garden and a discovery of fragrant plants and their benefits in the garden, with expert speakers participating.

Created with 1,200 rose bushes donated by the famous Antibes rose growers Meilland and Fazari, this place resonates as a tribute to the “Capital of the Rose.” Nearby, the park also features a “conservatory of the rose,” showcasing a collection of over 800 varieties developed since after the war.

From May 14 to 16, the esplanade of Prรฉ des Pรชcheurs will host the “Salon des Plantes, Fleurs et Jardins de demain” (Plant, Flower, and Garden Fair of Tomorrow), a large market of Mediterranean and exotic flowers and plants, as well as a wide choice of citrus.

Other attractions include national collections of Bougainvillea and Agapanthus. Local producers, florists, nurserymen, representatives from Vert d’Azur training center, AMAPs (Associations for the Preservation of Small-scale Agriculture) in Antibes and Biot, the Sociรฉtรฉ de Gens de Jardins Mรฉditerranรฉens, the city’s Green Spaces, and others will be there to offer advice to garden and plant enthusiasts.

A festive moment with the flower battle on Sunday, May 15, starting at 6 PM.

On Wednesday, May 18, from 10 AM to 6 PM, an open day at the municipal nursery on the Route des Colles in Biot.

On Friday, May 20, at 6 PM, at the Albert Camus Media Library, there will be a conference on the “History of the Rose in Antibes” by Jean-Luc Belliard from the Chamber of Agriculture 06. (Note that from May 13 to 21, the media library will offer a selection of books on the themes of Plants, Flowers, and Gardens).

The public of Les Floralies is also invited on May 21 to “Exflora en fรชte” at the Exflora Park from 10 AM to 6 PM. Free activities and stands around environmental themes. Musical entertainment will accompany visitors who can attend the award ceremonies for the “Balconies and Blooming Gardens” and the “Best Little Antibes Gardener” contest organized with children from Les Colonnes.
