Anticor: The Curious Reference by Christian Estrosi Regarding the Grand Stade

Latest News

Following the very severe report from the Regional Chamber of Accounts on the construction of the Nice grand stadium, Christian Estrosi curiously paid tribute to his model, Philippe Séguin, a man described as “favorable to the doctrine of public-private partnerships”…

However, quite the opposite, the former first president of the Court of Auditors was one of the first to sound the alarm on the use of this type of contract.

As early as 2008, he denounced this type of procedure “which consists of seeking third-party funders and building complex structures, forgetting that those who borrow on behalf of the State do so at a higher cost.”

In 2009, he compared the risks associated with partnership contracts for public entities to those of revolving credit for individuals.

In short, it takes a lot of imagination to conclude that Philippe Séguin supported public-private partnerships!
