While waiting for the permanent implementation โ at the end of 2012 โ of its new museography, the Nice-Cemenelum Archaeological Museum invites you to discover Roman civilization through the pencil of scenographer and illustrator, Pierre-Yves Videlier.
By sketching with precision and sensitivity, daily life scenes and portraits of Roman civilization, the scenographer and illustrator, Pierre-Yves Videlier offers the public an educational and fascinating visit.
An approach that allows presenting the latest knowledge related to the necropolises of the ancient city of Cemenelum, to the oriental and Christian places of worship in our region.
Furthermore, thanks to a recent restoration campaign, the Museum presents to the general public new funerary objects from its collections.
From the obol coin to the oil lamp, these objects of daily life, buried in the ground, become in our museum rooms the richest memory of our ancestors.
This is the very object of the archaeologist’s work: to understand the living through the world of the dead.
Finally, the Nice Cemenelum Archaeological Museum offers an updated approach to the necropolises of the entire commune of Nice and their topographical evolution.
