“Around the Guitars” in Biot

The City of Biot is hosting an evening in honor of the acoustic guitar this Saturday, June 29, starting at 9 p.m. in the Frédéric Mistral Garden. Students from the classical guitar course at the Biot Space of Arts and Culture will share the stage with the renowned guitarist Laurent Blanquart and songwriter Benoît Berrou from Benoît et la Lune.

The evening will begin with a concert by students from the classical guitar course at the EAC. They will perform with guitarist and composer Laurent Blanquart.

Laurent Blanquart, winner of numerous international awards, is pursuing a brilliant career as a guitarist and teacher. His concert activities lead him to perform with the greatest French orchestras including the National Orchestra of France, the Capitole de Toulouse, the National Orchestra of Lille, as well as abroad with the Orchestra of Lublin in Poland, the Teatro Real in Madrid… His latest recording of Toru Takemitsu’s Twelve Songs is unanimously praised by critics.

All musicians will then perform the instrumental version of The Moon and the Butterfly by Benoît et la Lune as well as a cover of Feeling Good.
The evening will conclude with a concert by the group Benoît et la Lune.

The artistic direction of this evening is provided by Luc Botta, a classical guitar teacher at the Biot Space of Arts and Culture.
