It consists of connecting Cape Horn to Antarctica on a paddleboard next January. Alexandra Lux and Stéphanie Geyer-Barneix are already known for having crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 2009 on a similar board.

After several days of crossing, the four girls arrived at the port of Monaco followed by the sailboat that accompanied them during the journey (5 crew members) and were welcomed by about sixty children impressed by their performance. They took the opportunity to raise awareness among the young people present about water and its importance.

Despite the physical capabilities and experience of the rowers, the journey was not without difficulties. They all agree that the second day was very challenging due to strong winds and waves. The nights were also complicated, even though the board and bags were equipped with lights. The girls initially took turns every hour on the first day, before switching to shifts of an hour and a quarter, thus gaining an additional 45 minutes of rest.

But these challenges did not lessen the motivation of the four athletes. “We are more motivated than ever,” declared Stéphanie Geyer-Barneix. For Alexandra Lux, this crossing “reminds us of memories from 2009 and is a good omen for Cape Horn.”
