The season for Valérie Nicolas and her teammates came to a beautiful end on Saturday evening at the Eucalyptus gymnasium. In addition to the planned festivities (music and Brazilian dancers), the players delivered a victory to the large audience present. Thanks to an outstanding first half (21-6), they overwhelmingly dominated AS Palente 40 to 22. A success reflective of the season: the handball players are achieving their 4th consecutive promotion this year. They will thus compete in D2 next season. “There are only positive points about the season. We met our expectations from the start of the championship. I want to thank the players, all the volunteers, the General Council, the city council, and all the institutions that enabled the promotion. Next year, the objective will first be to remain in the league, but why not aim for the top positions if we have the opportunities. With four promotions in four years, the priority is to stabilize the club. We will maintain the same group and strengthen it by recruiting new players. Valérie Nicolas is staying and will be a lasting part of the club’s project. She has the skills and qualities needed. The future of ASPTT Handball is about preparing for the new season with the training camp and the first Nikaïa tournament from August 5 to 10, 2010.”
