Yesterday, around 3 PM, a tram line 1 driver was assaulted by a passenger at the Opéra-Vieille Ville station. This incident led the other drivers to exercise their right to withdraw and halt the entire line’s traffic.
Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, firmly condemned this act of violence against a tram driver: “I am aware of the incivility that drivers often face. Moreover, I have asked Alain Philip, the deputy in charge of transport, to go to the emergency department of Saint-Roch hospital to be with the driver and to assure him of our full support.”
