At the press conference on Friday, July 21, the festival team presented their report. Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Cรดte dโ€™Azur Metropolis, and Robert Roux, municipal councilor delegated to Cinema, Art in Public Spaces, and sub-delegate to Museums, were present.

The Winners of the Nice Jazz Festival 2017

For the jury prize, the Jef Roques Quartet won. The group returns to the very essence of jazz, swing, and blues. They convey their passion through musicโ€”a communicative groove that delighted the spectators.

For the audience prize, the Noe Zagroun Quartet won. The group develops a unique music style, close to modern and intimate jazz.

New Installations

The stage had been slightly enlarged, and new screens were able to broadcast the concerts on the Massรฉna stage. In terms of security, a 300 mยฒ area on Place Massรฉna was installed to prevent any intrusion. Additionally, security gates and a significant number of security agents and municipal police were planned to cover the event.

On the environmental side, the festival reduced its waste volume by 80% thanks to reusable cups branded with the Nice Jazz Festival logo. The event partnered with Auto-Bleue, offering the chance to win tickets inside the two circulating vehicles.

The Attendance

Over the five nights, attendance exceeded 43,400 people, showing an increase compared to 2015. Several thousand people gathered every night at Place Massรฉna, as part of the Festival OFF.
