Within the Don Bosco College, Thursday, February 4th was dedicated to the presentation of uniforms to the young cadets of the civil security. A moment of immense pride for Don Bosco College but also for the department.

It was a beautiful culmination experienced by the 24 cadets of Don Bosco College this afternoon. Under the watchful eyes of their parents, these young adolescents stood at attention. All dressed in the same attire, with hands behind their backs and their chests straightened, the students who volunteered to join the civil security cadet class waited for their uniform presentation. Before proceeding to the individual handover, it was time for speeches.

For the occasion, notable attendees were present within the college. Bernard Chastang, the head of the establishment, was the first to speak. He extended his thanks to the teachers, the firefighters, and the departmental council. “The mission of Saint John Bosco was to train honest Christians and citizens; today your parents can be proud of you,” emphasized Bernard Chastang amidst the applause of the parents and elected representatives. The presentation of the uniforms symbolizes an important civic commitment. While some designated cadets paid tribute to their educators, numerous values hovered around this ceremony, including respect, dedication, and solidarity.

Martine Ouaknine, the departmental councilor for the Alpes-Maritimes and deputy mayor of Nice, then took the microphone. There was emotion but, above all, a lot of pride in her words: “The volunteers were selected based on motivation, and I am very proud of them today. The attire they will receive symbolizes numerous values such as respect, self-surpassing, and fraternity.”
