At MUSEAAV: Solidarity with Japan: “A Community, a Work for Japan”

Latest News

Tuesday, July 12 starting at 6:30 PM at MUSEAAV (Museum Factory Space for Contemporary & Virtual Art) 16 B, Place Garibaldi, Nice

The Association of Mayors of Alpes-Maritimes, the UDCCAS (Departemental Union of Communal Centers for Social Action) 06, and MUSEAAV, a 1901 association dedicated to art, are organizing a charitable cultural event in favor of Japan.

The earthquake of March 11 has continued to transform not only Japan and Southeast Asia but many social, economic, and ecological models around the world.

Last April, for three days, more than 90 artists mobilized and donated artworks for sale to raise funds dedicated to Japan.

To continue this solidarity in favor of Japan, the Association of Mayors of Alpes-Maritimes also wanted to get involved by launching the operation โ€œOne Municipality, One Artwork for Japan.โ€

The concept: a meeting between MUSEAAV artists and the mayors of the department, with the possibility for each municipality to acquire a piece whose profits will go towards solidarity with Japan.

ร˜ We invite you on Tuesday, July 12 at 6:30 PM to this meeting/exhibition.

This evening will be an opportunity to connect donor artists with cultural officials to allow networks to expand. Each municipality may later choose to sponsor an artist.

ร˜ Also on the program for the evening:

  • Presentation of photos from the Fukushima area by Gabriel Fabre, a French artist born in Japan,

  • Presentation on the taxation of patronage by an expert, Didier-Paul Grisoni-Allaria, lecturer at Drac – Departmental Delegate for the Patronage of the Order of Chartered Accountants.
