Christian Estrosi inaugurated, alongside Marina and Edmond Ardissone, founders of the Ardissone Nice Full-Contact (ANFC) club, and three world champions in the discipline, Jรฉrรดme Ardissone, Jonathan Pastorino, and Kamel Jebir, the new municipal boxing gym (23 rue du Professeur Delvalle).
A 200 m2 space, locker rooms, two rings, eight bags: that’s what the Pasteur municipal gym looks like after recent renovations. “Compared to what we had before, this represents a real evolution,” observes Jรฉrรดme Ardissone, four-time world full-contact champion. As part of this inauguration, young members of the ANFC even engaged in a boxing demonstration under the eyes of the Mayor.
Keeping Afloat
Founded in 2011 by Marina and Edmond Ardissone, the Ardissone Nice Full-Contact club was, until recently, located on rue Beaumont but faced financial difficulties, particularly due to the high rent of its former premises. These complications were significant enough to consider “stopping our activity,” insists the founder.
Christian Estrosi, for whom sport plays an essential role in city life, then decided to provide the association with “the means of the city to continue passing on martial arts to young generations of athletes and to take on new challenges.” Now, the club will be located in Pasteur, in premises that have been completely rehabilitated and made available by the municipality.
