Mid-19th century, during the years of the Boulevard du Crime. Julien leaves for military service and entrusts his beloved Colombe to his mother whom he despises, the fearsome Madame Alexandra, a famous actress. There goes Colombe, plunged into the life of the theater… a charming ingénue quickly courted.
