A journey through time along the millennial path that led the Romani people from Rajasthan to Andalusia…
This show is a great moment of encounter and sharing between these two great Romani traditions.
The artists from the DHOAD Gypsies of Rajasthan and CALLE CEREZO Flamenco troupes take us on an authentic journey with sparkling notes.
From the enchanting magic of the India of the Maharajas to the vibrant rhythms of Flamenco, where Arab, Jewish, and Eastern influences mingle, every step of the show is filled with the same wonder: magical and moving music, dances, and songs.
Ustad Shahid Parvez (India)
Indian Sitar Concert
Opening the evening, the Théâtre Lino Ventura is proud to present one of the masters of the Indian sitar, Ustad Shahid Parvez. This musician is today considered one of the best living sitarists. His talent is worthy of the great Ravi Shankar! Nihar MEHTA comes from a family that founded the prestigious Saptak music institute and has been organizing for several decades the largest festival in India: Saptak. Trained at the Saptak Institute by his uncle, Nandan Mehta, and Pandit Pooran Maharaj in the lineage of the great Pandit Kishan Maharaj, Nihar has performed with renowned Indian artists in India, Europe, and the USA.
