Shakespeare returns to the TNN for its fourth edition.
“We are and will always be ‘in love with Shakespeare’ and his numerous and inspired creations,” says a radiant Irina Brook, the director behind this unique program that transports us in spirit to the Globe Theater in London.
Let the show begin!
A war hospital opens its doors to a powerful and moving Henry V, transposed to the First World War. It is followed by a storm of The Tempest! Directed by Irina Brook, featuring the Scouts and Renato Giuliani, where burlesque meets the magical, and romanticism merges with the esoteric.
The charm doesn’t stop there. Malvolio, a humiliated character in Twelfth Night, reveals himself to the Nice audience in his funny and contemporary one-man show I, Malvolio conceived by Tim Crouch.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream also sets up camp. This Shakespearian classic enchants us by mixing song, music, and humor.
The passion for words brings us together with William’s Slam. This moving show combines the charm of Shakespearean texts with contemporary slam. The festival ends beautifully with its Freestyle!, bringing together students around a Shakespeare play.
This year, they amaze us with A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet.
