At just 15 years old, Lenny Brisseault left his mark on French javelin throwing in 2017 by shattering the French record for the under-15 category. With a throw of 65.84 meters on April 22, followed by another of 70.74 meters on October 14, the young thrower from Nice Cรดte d’Azur Athlรฉtisme (NCAA) improved the previous national record in the category (65.13 meters) by more than five meters, becoming the first French under-15 athlete to exceed 70 meters.
The son of David Brisseault and Magali Waldet-Brisseault, both former international throwers, the native of Frรฉjus is part of the rich tradition of Nice javelin throwing, currently embodied by French record holder Mathilde Andraud (63.54 meters), who was selected for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The emergence of Lenny Brisseault at a high level among young athletes also illustrates the dynamism of NCAA in all its sectors of activity (training, track/road/cross-country competition, high-level, leisure, health, etc.).
By early December, the club had already recorded a 5% increase in its membership compared to June 2017 across its various sites (Parc des Sports Charles Ehrmann, Vauban, La Lauvette, Forum Nice Nord and Valbonne). It now has 900 members in its Nice section and a total of 1,100 athletes including Valbonne, more than triple what it was 10 years ago (318).
