To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Promenade du Paillon, the city of Nice invites its citizens to enjoy an exceptional concert evening at the water mirror on November 17.
Postponed due to Storm Aline, the concert to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Promenade du Paillon will indeed take place. Meet this Friday, November 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the iconic water mirror of the Green Corridor. The concert is free, but you just need to register to gain access.
The city of Nice has chosen the concept of the Candlelight concert for this occasion. Organized by Fever, candlelight concerts emerged in Nice two years ago. Candlelight usually sets up its thousands of (fake) candles in the most exceptional and unusual places around the world.
In Nice, the Observatory of the Côte d’Azur, the temple of love in Chambrun Park, the Mediterranean University Center, and more recently the Palace of the Sardinian Kings during the C’est Pas Classique Festival serve as backdrops for Candlelight’s musical artists. These settings help create timeless moments while democratizing classical music.
The program for this anniversary includes a performance of the most famous Queen hits. Candlelight experiences offer tributes to great composers like Ludovico Einaudi, as well as to legendary bands like Coldplay or Pink Floyd, and also create thematic evenings around various genres.
The Promenade du Paillon Celebrates its 10th Anniversary
Inaugurated on October 26, 2013, the Promenade du Paillon, built over the river of the same name, was designed to be a green lung in the city center, with 12 hectares of greenery. Over the past decade, it has become an essential spot for both locals and tourists. Its 3,000 m2 water mirror is one of its major attractions, particularly in the summer.
Even though it is only celebrating its 10th anniversary, it is on the verge of great transformation. By the end of 2025, it is expected to become what the municipality calls a “urban forest.” The Promenade du Paillon 2.0 project has already begun with the demolition work on the TNN and the demolition of Acropolis.
