JOSEPH MOUTON: Metaphor and Realization in F. Kafka
The decline of metaphor is a well-worn theme of modernity, not only in literary aesthetics but in general aesthetics. By attempting to understand what this decline means for Kafka, we will reflect on what happens to the powers of representation in the modern age and even today.
Joseph Mouton teaches aesthetics at Villa Arson (Nice). He has written works on philosophy (Be an Artist and Misery of God published by Aubier Flammarion), poetry (The Sombr’Héros Project at VOIXéditions, The Training at Le Mot et le Reste, Delenda Ouest and Tragic Hannibal followed by Domestic Hannibal at Petits Matins).
