Audrey Bollaro is a young artist in her early stages but displays undeniable talent.
The painter has transferred her views and hopes onto her canvases simply for the pleasure of expressing herself freely.
Her graphics feature clear, streamlined lines without abandoning bold colors to portray her emotions.
“Life is also about sharing what touches us and sometimes trying to understand what eludes us,” she says.
Why did you choose these forms of expression?
Until last year and still today, I expressed myself through writing and photography, notably through press articles published, among others, in La Lettre du Paillon, a weekly local information bulletin. By picking up the pencil and brush, I turned towards a means of expression I wanted to be colorful and stripped back, closer to minimalism. Saying a lot with little, my feelings are often cheerful. “Simplicity is the essence of happiness,” wrote Cédric Bledsoe. The art of the essential…
When did you start drawing?
I have been drawing since I was a child without having taken drawing lessons. My skill for this art is an inheritance from my godmother, which I believe I have also passed on to my niece, Héloïse, aged 7. For a long time, I set aside my pencil, and then, in March 2016, during a hike in Roquebrune – Cap – Martin with my friends, we visited a gallery of abstract art. One friend was struck by one of the works. On my way home, I stopped at Auchan to buy supplies to create an artistic representation of her. From then on, I have not stopped painting, blending abstract and realism but always with minimalism, having a particular fondness for the graphics of arts like dance or music.
Where have you exhibited already?
My first exhibition took place in Blausasc thanks to Nadège Massé, a municipal councilor. I subsequently presented a series on the theme of the July 14, 2016, attack in Nice, at the National Theatre of Nice during the “Nice & Love” event in October 2016.
What are your plans?
I am working on a new project that I will propose to my village in Contes on the theme “Keep your child’s heart” in 2018. I will also have the honor of being published in the Vent’Art pocket gallery which brings together artists from the Côte d’Azur.
