Azur students “at work” for the 11th European Night of Museums

On the occasion of the 11th European Night of Museums, and for the 3rd consecutive year, the Nice Academy is implementing the “La classe, lโ€™ล“uvre!” initiative, which aims to allow students to become cultural ambassadors.

In collaboration with their teachers, students have been working for several months within the museums and in their classrooms, drawing inspiration from one or several works of the partner museums.

In association with these institutions, they will offer the general public guided tours, interactive pathways, installations, performances, concerts…

Some examples of activities within the framework of the “La classe, lโ€™ล“uvre!” initiative:

At the Jules Chรฉret Fine Arts Museum in Nice: 26 CE1 students from Chalet-des-Roses Elementary School in Nice present their work conducted in art classes around the piece “Nymphe” by Henri-Louis Cordier (1910) at 1:30 PM.

At the Musรฉe de La Castre: 25 fifth-grade students from Capron Middle School in Cannes will present the museum’s permanent collections of first art from 6 PM to 9:30 PM through a free and spontaneous interpretation, accompanied by a scientific and historical commentary.

At the Museum of Art and History of Provence (MAHP) in Grasse: 25 fourth-grade students from Saint-Jacques Elementary School in Grasse will exhibit their works from 4 PM to 6 PM around photographic portraits inspired by a work of Francesco Pascucci.

At the Musรฉe des Gueules Rouges in Tourves: 51 students from Entrecasteaux School and Ducousso School in La Celle will present their works and school project “Miner, a Shadow Profession” from 7:30 PM to 8 PM, focusing on the piece “Le Labyrinthe” by A Clif.

At the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Nice: 60 students from Parc Impรฉrial in Nice and Yves Klein Middle School in La Colle-sur-Loup will offer oral mediations from 6:30 PM to 8 PM around Yves Klein’s paintings, readings on the correspondences between Arman and Yves Klein, and mediations around “The Tulip” through mimes, tales, music and sound, videos and stop-motion, body expression…
