From Monday, July 31, the “Urban Pulse Connected Beaches” mobile app will be available for free download on all digital platforms. It provides real-time information on beaches.
During periods of high tourist influx, the Metropole is launching this project as part of the Urban Environmental Monitoring initiative. However, it is Veolia that developed this tool to make life easier for vacationers. Soon, the app will be expanded to other communities within the metropole.
In partnership with the Tourist Office, users have access to a live view to know the crowding situation at the seaside, all thanks to webcams directed at the beaches. It is also partnered with lifeguards present at the ten rescue stations, who can update the information on the phone.
This way, the people of Nice and vacationers will be able to see:
– the state of the sea,
– the presence of jellyfish,
– the UV index,
– the water temperature,
– the color of the flags,
– accessibility,
– nearby transportation,
– the location of showers, restrooms, rescue stations, and WIFI spots.
