Isabelle Drezen, by the sea in Mandelieu, always smiling

If “the fox is always peppy” as Isabelle Drezen says with her ever-radiant smile, the person in charge of this edition, speaking about her regional “baby”, it is because it continually strives to explore new avenues.
Starting with a new venue for the presentation of a publication that is a true “3 in 1.”

After the somewhat cramped charm (so crowded it was) of the mid-country in Vence in 2008, we found ourselves—just as numerous but more comfortably—”feet in the water” at the Pullman Royal Casino of Mandelieu-La Napoule managed by Serge Reinhard.

The guide aims to provide readers with a comprehensive view of the destination.
Even though the pagination remains unchanged, the general table of contents has been completely renewed. Nevertheless, it always begins with “Must-Sees,” a section that should give you a taste of what to expect in this guide. The essential elements have slightly evolved in their composition but they are emphasized even more as the names of the towns are now even larger—it’s impossible not to know where to go.

Nature, history and heritage, the “delicacies” of the region, which activities can be enjoyed in your leisure time, and the festivals to attend, constitute this “appetizer.”
The “Provençal hole” is the new sub-section under “Nightlife” for those who come to the Coast only for the lively evenings…

The Principality of Monaco is not on the cover, it’s Menton, its port and old town, but it appears at the beginning of the guide with more extensive and complete pagination.
The “Mid and High Country” are grouped and featured under the heading “Côte d’Azur side of mountains” but the coastline is not forgotten, detailed from East to West from Nice to Menton and from Nice to Théoule-sur-Mer.
Among the new features, two very comprehensive files on the Southern Alps with all the information about the main resorts of Val d’Allos and the Mercantour, both summer and winter versions.

Since we are talking about versions, Nice will finally have its City Guide with an edition scheduled for release in November where you should find a very thorough selection of good addresses in the Azurian capital across various sectors.

The indispensable landmarks when you arrive in the city regardless of your mode of transportation, ideas for discovery, gourmet tables and products, where and how to relax, tips for shopping and many other pieces of information that you will discover before the end of the year.

The City Guides are the first born of the countless editions of Le Petit Futé that have been released since 1976 and more than 70 cities already have their special edition, the one for Nice will naturally feature a photo of the tram crossing the new Place Masséna on the cover.
Meanwhile, you can get the Petit Futé “Côte d’Azur / Monaco and Southern Alps 2009” in bookstores and newsstands or order it on the net.
