Beijing Paralympics: Maxime Montaggioni, the Phoenix, will indeed be there this time.
Originally from Marseille, Maxime Montaggioni has been an Isola native at heart since he joined the Back to Back Club (Isola 2000), now known worldwide for its snowboarding champions.
Deprived of the use of his right forearm, Maxime Montaggioni has the distinction of having started competing at the age of 25, which is relatively late. However, he has won several world championship titles in banked slalom and snowboard cross.
Unfortunate at the last Olympics in South Korea, he had to leave the competition due to an injury sustained on the very first day of training.
Since then, Maxime Montaggioni has noticed that his sport has become considerably more professional. The level is therefore significantly higher, but he has evidently managed to adapt, and his goal remains the same: at least one medal, and why not two?
This time, he describes himself as “a little crazy,” and does not want to burn his wings.
