This evening at CUM (at 6:30 PM), Odile Menozzi, the dynamic president of the European Movement in Alpes-Maritimes, will host one of the giants of French journalism, Bernard Guetta, for a conference with a promising title: “The Renaissance of Europe”.
A staunch pro-European, Bernard Guetta will have as his opponents the young Loïc Bonin, a student in History and Political Science at the University of Nice and president of the Political Warehouse of Nice, and Christophe Gonzales, a jurist and secretary of the European Movement in Alpes-Maritimes.
He has recently published “The Intoxication of History”, a passionate and captivating work that chronicles his direct experiences over the past thirty years through his professional endeavors, and whose reading offers interpretative keys to political events that have shaped history and continue to influence current affairs.
Bernard Guetta, born on January 28, 1951, in Boulogne-Billancourt, is a French journalist, an expert in international geopolitics, and the 1981 Albert Londres Prize winner.
His career is rich in experience.
He joined the Nouvel Observateur in June 1971, then worked for Le Monde from 1978 to 1990.
He was a correspondent in Vienna in 1979 and then, starting in 1980, in Warsaw and Gdansk. He spent four years in Washington from 1983 to 1987 before taking on the role of correspondent in Moscow from 1988 to 1990.
He was the editor-in-chief of L’Expansion from 1991 to 1993 and of the Nouvel Observateur from 1996 to 1999; he is a columnist for L’Express and a contributor to La Repubblica, Le Temps, and La Gazeta.
In 1991, he joined France Inter, where he participates in the morning show on this radio station, particularly with a geopolitical column every morning at 8:17 AM after the news bulletin.
