In the presence of Jean-Marc Giaume, Deputy Municipal Councilor for Historical Heritage, Archaeology, and Niçoise Language and Culture
As part of the Niçoise language awareness workshops set up by the Little School of Heritage, a 5th-grade class from the Château School (Old Nice) will perform at the Théâtre de la Semeuse on Monday, June 11, at 10 a.m., an excerpt from a bilingual French-Nissart play on the theme of medieval madness.
The 3rd-grade class students will also present panels on local culture: feeding and entertaining Nice.
This show is the result of the work carried out by the cultural mediation team of the City of Nice Heritage Center, who, throughout the school year, strive to pass on Nice’s heritage to young schoolchildren through numerous themes and diverse activities (urban tours, live history workshops, games, songs, etc.).
Located in the premises of the Château Elementary School in Old Nice, “The Little School of Heritage” is a genuine mediation space aimed at teaching the young Nicois the History and culture of their City.
The Little School of Heritage opened its doors in October 2010, created as part of the Days of Transmission, and has achieved great success. The “Heritage” classes are open to all the schools in the City of Nice, mainly primary classes, which immerse themselves for a day in the historical heart of the city. Practical workshops complement these visits to raise awareness and highlight the richness of Nice’s heritage.
