The theme of seeds will be the focus around which the City of Biot and the Association of Traders, Craftsmen, and Independent Professions (CAPL) will organize the 3rd edition of Biot Nature & Environment, which will take place on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18.
On the program for this green gathering: plant and organic produce markets, numerous workshops, exhibitions, seed exchanges, eco-citizen theater, documentaries, and organic delights on the plates.
For Biot Nature & Environment, the village will adorn itself with vegetation and greenery. With its plant market and seed exchange, complemented by an organic market and gourmet activities, Biot transforms into a vast learning garden for natural cultivation.
Indeed, nearly fifteen workshops will be open to visitors, both young and old. Throughout the weekend, they will have the opportunity to learn how to create an above-ground vegetable system (and even take one home to install on their balconies and terraces), make seed bombs, get familiar with water treatment, make biodegradable pots and recycled bags, learn the intricacies of organic seed sowing and transplanting, the colorful nuances of recycling bins, bake organic bread, or work with wicker.
Respecting nature in everyday actions requires both awareness and guidance. On Saturday, May 17 at 4 p.m. in the church square, the company รฉCohรฉrence will offer this with their Positive Energies show, which combines theater and staging with moments of debate and public participation.
The hard-hitting documentary The World According to Monsanto by Marie-Monique Robin will be screened on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the P. Operto sports complex and will be followed by a round table.
And, throughout the event, the report Children’s Words on Sustainable Development, created based on testimonies from children at the Biot leisure center, will be broadcast for the first time.
