A delegation from Tacoma is heading to Biot from April 3rd to 7th. Being a city renowned for its glassmaking as well, the twinning is notably expressed through a dialogue between American and Biot glassmakers. This moment of privileged exchanges will take place on Thursday, April 4th, at the Verrerie de Biot. This historic glass venue in Biot will host performances by two talented American glass artists, Ben Cobb and Sarah Gilbert. They will be assisted by their Biot counterparts, master glassmakers Jean-Claude Novaro and Antoine Pierini.
Continuing from the morning, as a prelude to the historic event Biot and the Templars, which this year is themed around medieval gastronomy, the show at the Verrerie Pierini will be uniquely presented by master glassmaker Antoine Pierini and the chef of Terraillers*, Michael Fulci.
During a spectacular and gourmet happening, they will combine the art of molten glass and gastronomy to create an original dish cooked directly in molten glass.
They will thus kick off the festivities of Biot and the Templars, which also promise a beautiful alchemy between grand spectacle and medieval cuisine. The gastronomic program of the event includes taverns, workshops, demonstrations, and conferences.
