As part of “Savor Summer in Biot,” Biot puppeteer Loïc Bettini will present his latest show “Baraka Couleurs” every Tuesday at 9 PM in Place des Arcades. This poetic and musical tale is in the great tradition of open-air street performances that enliven and amaze early summer evenings.
This show unfolds in the world of the funfair, with the story: “a fortune-telling magician brings puppets to life and can no longer control their feelings.” Loïc Bettini creates his puppets, ranging from about thirty centimeters tall to nearly 2 meters, with visible strings, as well as masks to depict their emotions and small puppet theater dolls.
Circus acts, dances, fairies, dragons, romantic clowns, and the love story of Petroushka and the Ballerina will be on the agenda.
Loïc Bettini is the creator and author of the puppets, costumes, performance, text, and poems. The music is drawn from traditional circus and fair music, Maurice Ravel’s “Jardin Féérique,” and Stravinsky’s “Petroushka.”
