For years, Phil has lived cut off from the world on a small, isolated Scottish island within a Presbyterian community. After suffering a stroke that causes total memory loss, Phil returns to his island following a convalescence period in the hospital. On site, Millie is tasked with helping him find his bearings.
Gradually, Phil regains his strength, gets back to work, and manages to recover physically. However, he suffers terribly from this absence of memories and cannot help but question Millie to uncover bits of his past.
