Created in Paris, the National Sports Museum has been based in Nice since 2013. It is the only national museum in France dedicated to the theme of sports and it boasts enormous resources (nearly 45,000 objects and 400,000 documents), allowing it to renew itself regularly.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the great boxer Georges Carpentier (the first French world champion in English boxing), the Museum has announced a new temporary exhibition on the theme of boxing.
Called “The Call of the Ring”, the exhibition showcases the beautiful stories of the sport, as well as its darker times, rather than offering a historical retrospective of the discipline.
In the manner of the other exhibitions at the National Sports Museum, “The Call of the Ring” is an invitation to travel and discovery. Its course is divided into six sections (as many as rounds). As usual, visitors will be able to see unique objects from the “noble art” and will also be accompanied by immersive and interactive devices.
The exhibition will be open to the public from February 4, 2022, until January 2023.
